Construction of upgrades and improvements to the Old Bridge Municipal Utilities Authority Wastewater Collection System with a project entitled the “Sewer Pump Station Upgrades” that consists of upgrades to eleven (11) pump stations at a total project cost of approximately $2.3 million was financed by the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Financing Program (NJEIFP). The NJEIFP is a State Revolving Fund program jointly administered by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust (Trust) and uses a combination of funds provided by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the DEP, and the Trust to provide very low interest loans to borrowers for environmental infrastructure projects.

This project will provide water quality benefits for more efficient maintenance of pump stations by means of newly installed man lifts, and protection of the pump equipment by means of newly installed grinders ahead of the pumps to benefit the residents and businesses throughout Old Bridge Township.

State Revolving Fund programs around the nation provide states and communities the resources necessary to maintain and improve the infrastructure protecting our valuable water resources nationwide.
